Retail Store Apprenticeship

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

An Apprenticeship at one of our Retail Stores is the perfect chance for students to gain insight into a fascinating career path at a global fashion and lifestyle company. The Retail Store Apprenticeship is divided into three pillars: a hands-on experience at our Stores, theoretical modules that provide you with in-depth understanding of the fashion industry and exam preparation. The three-tiered approach gives you the knowledge you need to succeed in your future career – hopefully at Esprit!

Cer. Trade & Com. Specialist

Esprit’s educational degree course to become a Certified Trade & Commerce Specialist (IHK) is a 3-year program that begins every August. Already after 1.5 years into the program, you will take an exam to qualify as a Retail Salesperson.

The program offers various practical and theoretical modules at the learning center (Bildungszentrum) for Retail education in Springe, Germany. The practical modules take place directly at the Store locations. And the theoretical modules mainly take place at the learning center in Springe where students will participate in seminars on corporate management, commercial marketing, leadership, and HR management to prepare for becoming a Sales Supervisor or Floor Manager.

Who is the program for? Anyone who has completed a secondary education and who is interested in practical Retail experience, customer service, financial management, product management, warehousing, Store organization and personnel management.

Retail Merchant

Esprit’s educational degree course to become a Retail Salesperson is a 3-year program that begins every August. The program’s duration may be reduced if the student demonstrates a high level of performance.

The practical modules take place directly at the Store locations with a focus on customer service, financial management, product presentation and organization, along with warehousing. The theoretical modules will take place in the vocational college (Berufsfachschule) and cover topics such as sales & marketing, business & social studies, retailing & accounting, and business processes in Retail. Internal seminars will also focus on sales and marketing, exam preparation and preparation for the position of Retail Merchant.

Who is the program for? This program is designed for anyone who has completed at least a secondary education (including a vocational extension certificate) and who aims to become qualified as a Retail Salesperson in the textiles and fashion industry. 

Store Visual Merchandiser

Esprit’s educational degree program to become a Visual Merchandiser is a 3-year program that begins every August (duration may be reduced if the student demonstrates a high level of performance).

The program offers a certified degree as a Visual Merchandiser and focuses on firsthand aspects of Design and Store presentation.  The practical modules take place directly at the Store locations and focus on the implementation of visual Design concepts for window displays & sales areas, setting up and taking down product displays, decorating the display areas, and styling the mannequins. Theoretical modules will take place at the learning center (Bildungszentrum) and will focus on visual sales promotion, project planning & management, business & social studies. Internal seminars and internships are part of the program: participants will get a glance into various aspects of the job through educational weeks, such as carpentry, painting and time spent at advertising agencies. At the end of the program you will be qualified as a Visual Merchandiser.

Retail Merchant in Wholesale and Export Trade

Esprit’s educational degree course to become a certified Retail Merchant in Wholesale and Export Trade is a 2.5-year program (duration may be reduced if the student demonstrates a high level of performance) that begins every August and is carried out at Esprit’s Headquarters in Ratingen, Germany.

The program is designed for anyone who has completed at least a secondary education (including a vocational extension certificate). Practical modules will take place at Esprit’s Headquarters in various departments of the company such as Logistics, Finance, Product Procurement, IT, Human Resources, Marketing, Business Center, Merchandise Management, Business Operations and Retail. Theoretical modules will take place at the vocational college (Berufsfachschule) and will focus on Wholesale & Foreign Trade processes, management & control, business processes, politics, business English, and possibly an additional foreign language. Internal seminars and internships are part of the program: participants will get a glance into various aspects of the job on topics such as product information, English language training, IT training, along with other lectures and modules related to the course. The program is geared towards individuals who would like to work in areas such as Product Procurement, Business Operations, Corporate Functions and Merchandise Management.

Business Informatics training program to accompany B.Sc. in Business Informatics

Esprit’s 2-year program (or up to 3.5 years) in Business Informatics is designed to accompany your degree in B.Sc. Business Informatics and begins every year in August. The program consists of a combination of practical training at the Headquarters in Ratingen and a degree course in Business Informatics in cooperation with the FOM College in Essen, Germany. This program is designed for anyone who has completed at least a secondary education and wants to work in IT. The practical modules include training in the IT departments and interfaces to business departments, such as Product Procurement, Logistics and Human Resources. The theoretical modules at the FOM include Management, Finance, Mathematics, Operating Systems, e-Business, Networks, Information Management, IT Law, IT Security and Software Engineering. Internal seminars and lectures such as English language training, IT training and other topics related to the degree are an integral part of the program.
