Responsibilities:
As the Merchandise Planning Manager at Esprit Amsterdam, you will take on a leadership role in our merchandising operations. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will leverage your extensive experience to develop strategic merchandise plans, optimize inventory levels, and align with our future growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive merchandise strategies that align with Esprit regional merchandising and financial goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze historical data and market trends, providing sophisticated business insights to drive decision-making.
- Proactively identify potential risks and opportunities within the product assortment, working closely with the Merchandising team to mitigate challenges and capitalize on opportunities.
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained to meet market demands and achieve business objectives.
- Contribute to the formulation and communication of strategies that support Esprit Amsterdam's future merchandising objectives.
- Develop and execute item-level promotional and markdown strategies on a weekly basis, contributing to sales optimization.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Merchandise Planning, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity within the fashion or retail industry.
- Strong proficiency in analyzing complex datasets using advanced analytical techniques to inform strategic decision-making.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively, influence, and manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to foster relationships with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds (NA, EU, and APAC).
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and streamline processes.
- In-depth understanding of key financial metrics such as sales, gross margin, weeks of supply, inventory turnover, and sell-through, with a proven track record of influencing these metrics.
- Exceptional multitasking abilities, enabling effective prioritization in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, while meeting deadlines with a sense of urgency.
- Proficient in navigating ambiguity, skilled at creating clarity and efficient processes to drive tangible results.
- Meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to maintaining accuracy across all tasks.
- Advanced expertise in Excel, including pivot tables and vlookups, for data analysis and insightful reporting.
- Familiarity with various planning and merchandising systems and databases.
