Menswear Designer Knitwear/Jersey (m/f/d)

How you will contribute:

 

  • Trend research, market monitoring and supplier visits (if required)
  • Sketching (Digital and hand)
  • Stitch and pattern creation with factories and vendors
  • Yarn selection/ swatch briefing for vendors and factories
  • Artworks, colourways, materials and design-related trim approval
  • Preparation of mood and colour trend boards for the respective category as well as merchandising sheets and sales documents, in cooperation with the entire Design team
  • Clear and effective communication with design team and Product development/ technical design.
  • Range plan updates alongside upkeep of files
  • Responsible for preparation, selection and usage of the colour, materials, design-related trims and thread designs according to Esprit requirements
  • Development of new silhouettes and shapes
  • Photographing and organizing prototypes and samples alongside tech team
  • Specific supplier briefing on required development and research based on collection strategy and collection size
  • Organise, prepare fitting according to calendar until SMS
  • Participate in Fittings in cooperation with the technical team and subsequent review
  • Responsibility for technical and detailed descriptions (development and sample worksheet/ TECH PACKS)
  • Preparation of and participation in meetings for specific collections
  • Collaborate with supporting departments (Buying, Technic, QA, Product Safety) to ensure quality standards of garment
  • Creation of a target-group and market-appropriate collection as well as collection tracking up to sale for a defined product group or collection
  • Execute corporate sustainability targets

 

 

Who you are:

  • Degree in fashion design with wide professional experience in a comparable position within the knitwear/ jersey specialism
  • Knowledge of design and product development and in fabric research- international
  • Excellent knowledge of stitch, structure and yarn qualities
  • Very good knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, as well as Microsoft Office
  • Freehand design Skills
  • PDM/PLM (advantage not a must)
  • Ability to understand and grasp concepts
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Esprit design aesthetic
  • Excellent feeling for colour and style
  • Adaptable, fast and proactive, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and request, while working under pressure
  • Good attitude and flexible approach
  • Enthusiastic and passionate
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
