Job Description:
Are you passionate about fashion and innovation? Esprit is seeking a talented Technical Designer with expertise in both flat-knit and RTW designs to be a part of our dynamic team. As a key contributor to our womenswear line, you will play an essential role in style development, ensuring impeccable fit, and upholding Esprit's high-quality standards in knit garments. Your Responsibilities:
- Support the Designer in early-stage style development by providing insights on shapes and measurements, flat knit experience is highly appreciated.
- Take ownership of block assignments and coordinate proto and salesman sample fittings for t garments as per the style development schedule to meet timelines.
- Ensure fit and workmanship meet Esprit standards in preparation for production; manage measurements/workmanship comments and PDM/PLM maintenance for designs.
- Conduct garment risk assessments and collaborate with suppliers, agencies, Product Safety, and QA for optimal outcomes.
- Provide feedback to suppliers, including grading comments, and handle production approvals within the Flat knit and other style schedule.
- Develop, document, and communicate quality guidelines (manuals and blueprints) tailored for both flat knit and RTW designs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic partners (agencies/suppliers).
Profile:
- Possess an Apparel technology or similar qualification with extensive experience in a comparable position, with expertise in flat knit.
- Demonstrate expertise in selecting technical ingredients and proficiency in production processes.
- Showcase technical product knowledge encompassing workmanship, technical features, handling, and fit for designs, focus on flat knit.
- Ability to assess product quality and vendor capabilities, particularly in knit manufacturing.
- Excellent organizational skills and pattern making experience (preferred).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Illustrator, PDM/PLM, and CAD Gerber software.
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills to foster effective collaboration within the team and with partners.
- Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving fashion environment, ensuring successful delivery of projects and meeting tight deadlines.
